CAPC Day Celebrations Across Ontario

Below is a list of activities taking place across Ontario to celebrate CAPC and CPNP programs on or near National Child Day (November 20th). Gather some ideas and create your own celebration activities in your community.

Atikokan Native Friendship CentreOn November 20th ANFC is holding a Coloring Contest being displayed at Foodland with a draw taking place at 12pm. See the poster.
Council Fire CAPC and CPNP
Toronto
Toronto Council Fire will be holding a Carnival in celebration of National Kids Day. See their poster.
De dwa dehs hye>s Aboriginal Health
Brantford
On November 20th 45 parents will be traveling outside of Brantford to do some Christmas shopping. See the poster.
Dryden MNOOn November 20th, there will be face painting, balloons, cakes and great prizes. See the poster.
Fort Erie Native Friendship Centre
Fort Erie Native Friendship Centre will be having a Child Pasta Dinner for the community with a guest speaker.
Georgian Bay Native Women's Assoc.
Midland
On November 20th, the children will be reading a few lines from the charter in Ojibway and donating 300 banac bites. See the poster.
Indian Friendship Centre of Sault Ste. MarieOn Monday November 16th there will be a multi-program collective kitchen from 3 - 7pm at the Indian Friendship Centre Memorial Hall.
Ininew Native Friendship Centre
Cochrane
On November 20th, Ininew will be holding a family Breakfast at the Centre.
Kapuskasing CAPC
The Family Support Program will be joining the Brighter Futures Early Years Centre at a school gymnasium where all the schools are invited. All the organizations joining the event will bring an item of food and hold a craft for the children. The Kapuskasing CAPC program will have a traditional craft for the kids to do.
M'Wikwedong Native Cultural Resource Centre
Owen Sound
On November 20th, the CAPC Program in Owen Sound has a space at the mall from 5-7pm where there will be face painting, balloons being given out, and a colouring and reading area.
Ne'Chee Native Friendship Centre
Kenora
Ne'Chee will be holding a QT Project. For more information please click on the poster .
Odawa Native Friendship Centre
Ottawa
On November 20th, they will be sharing Aboriginal stories and snacks and inviting the whole community to join.
Teminskaming Native Women’s Association
Kirkland Lake
There will be a nutritional lunch, prepared by clients as well as a colouring contest with the pictures being displayed in the foyer of the Centre. As well, there will be childrens games with prizes.
Thunderbird Friendship Centre
Geraldton
Cultural Poster Contest in schools with judging on November 6th. On November 20th the Honorable Mayor Michael Powers has been invited to celebrate. There will be a luncheon, face painting and Children's Rights Booklets being handed out.
Timmins Native Friendship Centre
Timmins
On November 20th from 11 to 1pm, the Timmins Native Friendship Centre will be holding a celebration for the children with four activity centres, the children will be drumming and singing with the women's drum group, handing out blue ribbons and book marks with the four colours. See the poster.
Wasawkewete Zone One CAPC
Wabigoon
On November 20th, from 6 to 8pm there will be a sleigh ride followed by hot chocolate, hot dogs and cookies. There will be door prizes and an evening packed full of fun!
Windsor CAPC
Along with Can-Am Friendship Centre they will be promoting the importance of education for the children.
